super 8mm film stock

Is there a way to manufacture your own super 8mm stock or is it too costly and/or dangerous to attempt it?

if I could make make my own stock I wouldn't have to worry when kodak or fuji discontinue super 8mm formats

heres the obituary/press announcment for 8mm kodachrome 40 if anyone hasn't seen it yet.

the upside is that its being replaced with an ektrachrome format but I don't know how good the new format is.

Sorry, I totally misunderstood you the first time (too many beers, too many late nights)

I don't know how you'd go about making your own super 8 stock. In fact I didn't even know kodak was discontinuing kodachrome untill I saw your link.

A shame, but hopefully EKTACHROME will do the business.

And I'm glad you liked the preview enough to consider buying the dvd. Its a mix of super 16 and DV in case you're interested.
